Introducing TOP Hemp

Sam Innes and Joelle Mihaere are the partners behind TOP Hemp. Started in 2019, TOP Hemp is a locally owned company that provides superior products that can help transform the health of whānau. Their foods are decadent, versatile and delicious, plus they are nut free, gluten free, dairy free and keto friendly!

TGFC/ How did you get started?
Sam/ TOP Hemp was founded in 2019 by myself and partner Joelle Mihaere. As a result of whānau related health concerns, Joelle researched alternative hemp food products and I expressed endearment by investing myself in developing hemp food recipes and products. Our creativity started from the kitchen and progressed into the New Zealand food market.

We realised our idea was worth sharing with others so we upscaled and developed our own unique manufacturing processes.
Since then we’ve continued to grow by adding a new range of products with high quality certified organic ingredients.

TGFC/ What is Pata?
Sam/ Our pata is a nut free hemp seed spread inspired by a tasty blend of peanut butter and tahini. This unique allergy free spread tastes fabulous and doesn’t have any bitterness so it has so many potential uses in your kitchen.

The thing that makes us stand out from other pickles is the amount of flavour our products are punching. We use a lot of delicious herbs and spices to make Pickled really unique tasting.

TGFC/ What makes TOP Hemp special?
Sam/ The idea behind our pata was to blend the flavours of peanut butter and tahini but without any allergens. Not only is our product unique and original, it tastes fabulous and it's really fun and creative.

TGFC/ Do you have a favourite product?
Sam/ Our favourite product is Pata and our two favourite flavours are Chilli Pata and Garlic Pata.

TGFC/ What is the product people seem to love?
Sam/ Our Garlic Pata is the one people seem to enjoy the most. 

TGFC/ Is there anything else you’d like to share with us?

Sam/ Health and sustainability is an important focus for us and we get to demonstrate this with our range of products including pata and our Hemp Protein. Our foods are decadent, versatile and delicious!
